Project Engineer
 


D&R Technology Inc headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario services the automotive industry, as a leader in the tube processing automation for the manufacturing of Automotive Seating components and IP Beam Assemblies.

SUMMARY:
Responsible for technical and commercial aspects of assigned projects. This includes developing schedules, reviewing drawing preparation, maintaining cost control within budget, contacts with customer and negotiations with vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fully understand and interpret all project documents, customer specs and purchase orders
  • Selection of equipment to suit customers' needs, projects specifications and project cost profile. Negotiations with suppliers, procurement as required.
  • Coordinate documents preparations including process diagrams, equipment layouts and details required by project. Check drawings prior to submittal to machine shop and to a customer.
  • Maintain contact with customer during projects to assure completeness.
  • Provide project schedule and expedite all equipment and technical information to meet contract requirements
  • Work closely with customer and vendors. Resolve any customer/ vendor complaints relating to projects in timely and cost effective manner.
  • Provide sale support during proposal process. Provide project feedback as required.
  • Provide on site startup/ data collection services for assigned projects, if needed/required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of project management processes. Ability to develop and meet the project schedules along with contingency plans
  • Able to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify project costs and meet/maintain good cost control
  • Ability to think outside the box and recommend options
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad, Pro/Engineer and QuickBooks is an asset
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of bending technology equipment, material handling equipment is a HUGE plus
